Mr. Snook looked out the window, watched the rain pouring over the city, water particles tired and distracted. Will, seven and a half just after, una luce bluastra tra i palazzoni grigi e massicci, a yellow light from the street lamps in the streets and among the silhouettes of trees.
He was standing, in the living room of his office on the top floor of a modern building in the center of Milan, from whose windows were visible whole districts, glass streaked with dirty drops. It seemed so awfully quiet this movement, from on high, a discrete proceed, measured, under the thick dark clouds that flowed suspended, tightened. The brightness of the liquid that goes off in the evening seemed to make everything more vivid, almost covered with enamel. Far away you could see even an elegant religious garnished with crosses, statue, spiers, remember how the art, history and religion are important in Italy, almost as important as the money, externality and fashion. This nation of lovers of appearance advancing in the rain with a certain order reassuring, a repeat always the same.
Inside the stillness of his office, immersed in artificial red lamps design, Mr. Snook could not afford to think about some important decisions that should have taken in a hurry, choices that would have affected his life. His and, reflex, that of all the people who stood beside him. He had to choose whether to have hibernate or go on living his life as usual, continue his journey in this existence that had become all too accustomed. […]
The present volume is published on the occasion of the exhibition Slept, my love: Elena Amodeo and Vittorio Schieroni (July to September 2013, space Made4Art, Via Voghera 14, Milan).
The project Slept, my love, based on dialogue between the writing and the art of Vittorio Schieroni Elena Amodeo, was started with an exhibition at Made4Art, where the works of the artist - mixed media on large paper, all made in the 2013 especially for the exhibition - were exposed with a very particular set-up can create two rooms and two situations in which the visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves; along with every work of many songs from the eponymous story writer, invitation to reflection and inspiration for the interpretation of works of art.
The publication of the story of Victor Schieroni is a second stage of this project for four hands. Slept, my love, text also finished in 2013 after a series of changes and additions, has been a source of inspiration for the creation of the work of Elena Amodeo, which are reported here and that highlight characters and moments of particular interest to the authors.
