Three years after his solo show at MAC in Lissone and fresh from the American success of the exhibition at the Wasserman Project in Detroit (2017), Willy Verginer returns to exhibit in Italy with the personal After Industry at the LeoGalleries in Milan (8 October – 4 November 2017). On the occasion of the exhibition, this monographic volume is presented which contains all his most recent works.
The contemporaneity of Verginer's work favors a new dialogue with Nature that begins with the very material of his work, the wood: with its warmth and color, with its singular nuances, with its smell, the possibility of changing and remaining alive over time, in fact, wood is an instrument of connection with the world of the living whose forms it maintains, releasing, with measure in the moment of vision, all the magic of their naturalness, that, in this substance, it remains inherent in all the vast expressive potential with which one wants to catalyze it.
It presents us with a universe populated by plants, men, animals, a corollary of creatures that share that poetic essence written by the alchemical work of this extraordinary author, capable of enchanting us by bewitching our seeing, now seduced by the indeterminable beauty and truth of his characters.
