the painter’s room #1
Nataly Mayer
Paths of painting 1990-2020
This extensive monograph, without any claim to be exhaustive and final with respect to the critical analysis of the artist's thirty-year career, is proposed as, essential and necessary, moment of important and substantial reflection on the articulated and complex (while coherently logical in its diversified and jagged at the same time) search for Nataly Maier. One of the data that, in fact, emerges immediately, I respect an overall observation of this wide time span of his long artistic experience to date, it is the constant, repeated, openness of his gaze and of his thought that grants to the artistic practice the possibility to keep active and propositive different ways, resolutions, formulations and imaginaries to the expressive logic of its color e, overall overall, of his painting.
