Antonio Ligabue. Terra: place of origin, field of work, scenography of a company

The Galleria 'Bonis of Reggio Emilia offers its first monographic exhibition dedicated to Antonio Ligabue, titled Terra: place of origin, field of work, scenography of a company. Fifteen oil works celebrating the great artist and his land, investigating his visceral bond with nature.

«I got to know Ligabue thoroughly, ever since I was a child, and I believe that his only reason for living was solely and exclusively painting», he declares Sergio Negri, authoritative expert on his work. «Ligabue doesn't paint to find a meeting point with the observer – adds the gallery owner Stanislaus de' Bonis –, he paints for himself. Ligabue paints himself, or better, free himself on the canvas».
