For his third solo exhibition in the Principality of Monaco, Matteo Sanna presents his new research through five series of unpublished works, originating from a deep inner investigation that became all the more urgent during the toughest moments of the pandemic. The solo show at NM Contemporary, by title Sunglasses, envelops us in a welcoming environment, glamorous for the strength of the visual impact, for pastel shades and bright blues. Everything seems perfect but in fact what surrounds us does not emphasize the homogenizing beauty, the perfection to which our society aspires every day as much as its exact opposite, the imperfection, the fragility, the transience that they find in these rooms the perfect representation of that "In praise of imperfection", quoted by the curator Angela Madesani in her text in the catalogue.
