Sandy Skoglund. Magic Time

From the '70s to the present day Sandy Skoglund remains faithful to a technique that has made her recognizable in the eyes of contemporary art history. Sculptures? Installations? Still frame in the set advertising or film? Photos? Difficult to give an unambiguous definition. The long process of research and construction of the "scene" all relies on the interference, sull'insinuarsi, slow and intrusive, the unusual in everyday life, Kitsch made from bright colors and accretions of a repeating obsessively, mostly natural or gourmet, covering or surrounding space and literally the man who lives. The result is true un'ossimorica fiction, a disturbing truth where danger lurks behind a deceptive reality.
