Photography Calabria Festival 2024. Family photography

Family photography is the theme and title of Photography Calabria Festival 2024. A non-random choice in which singular and plural do not only have a grammatical sense, but also social. This year too we return to investigate photography as a language of contemporaneity, this time declined on the theme of family and its representations. Photography as a tool that allows us to reflect on the present, about the deep and sometimes complex relationships that arise in families, but which are capable of existing and resisting even beyond biological ties. Photography as a language that runs in many families, from every part of the world, is used for fixed- king moments, to keep emotions and feelings alive, to keep little stories. Photography as a medium to rediscover and reclaim all those moments that often remain crystallized in an album left in some piece of furniture at home, but which rekindles our memory as soon as we leaf through its pages.
