Catalog of the exhibition “Farah Khelil. Surfacing”, Yards of Image, Milan, 28 March – 11 May 2019.
The works of the young and talented Farah Khelil (Tunisia, 1980) they arise from an emotional breath, a visceral crossing, even before mental. Portray reality, as it is proposed to us at a first superficial glance, it would be nothing more than betraying one's unconscious, deliberately masking it. The objective truth of things, in fact, according to the artist, it is nothing more than the reproduction of a fiction, unable to fully support and interpret the burden of the human soul. It is hopelessly deaf to the deliberate confusion of the inner universe and, for this, must be discredited and replaced by the synthesis of a new "event". Only through the imagination, the magic of memory and the deconstruction of reality, you have the power to fill that void, allowing to reach an unprecedented perceptual dimension and for this reason, absolutely human.
