Catalog of the exhibition “Bruno Ceccobelli – Double Light ", E3 contemporary art, Brescia, 11 May – 29 June 2019, curated by Alberto Fiz. The exhibition consists of works by 2014 (Pupils and Irises) and a selection of works from 1985 to the 1990.
“…Ceccobelli undergoes a process of continuous transformation where the work of art develops in its autonomy through numerical fragments, symbolic rituals, unexpected handwriting, and unconventional compositional mechanisms. An alchemy that passes through the use of different materials such as lead, ash, sulfur, cera. But also carbon fiber, cardboard, malta, stained fabrics or brushes. All of these undergo a continuous metamorphosis according to a dual process where the artist supports the tools of his own research of which he becomes an accomplice. The frayed painting, wound, contaminated, not only transits from one material to another, but it rests on every possible three-dimensional support, spesso simile ad found object, as in the case of icons or retable with visible hinges that came out of some cellar or arranged in a rather rough way ".
