Volume published on the occasion of the exhibition A.R.T.: NOURISHMENT AND CONSERVATION OF ART organized and promoted within the non-profit project Banca SISTEMA ARTE.
In line with the Expo themes 2015, the exhibition proposal “A.R.T. (Advanced Refrigeration Technology): Nourishment and conservation of art”, project-bridge between Milan and Venice, edited by Andrea Del Guercio, draws attention to the question of nutrition and the importance of food, focusing on the theme of its conservation, sharing and consumption.
The central iconic figure of the project is the refrigerator, chosen as a representative icon of the theme of nourishment and conservation.
The exhibition in particular develops between Milan and Venice (7 May – 30 June 2015), being able to count on several exhibition venues in both cities, and involves 36 artists, referred 8 Masters of Contemporary Art e 12 young.
The works reflect on the anthropological implications of nourishment, starting from the awareness that consumption, the conservation and sharing of food are at the basis of the way man perceives himself. The exhibition therefore activates a gaze on food with strong religious and spiritual implications, which justify the aegis of the Patriarchate of Venice and the choice of the exhibition location, the church of Sant'Andrea della Zirada, reopened for the occasion to the public after a closure of over twenty years and a partial restoration.
