For the collective Be beautiful and shut up, the inspiration takes you from the essay by Michela Marzano (Mondadori, 2010), associate professor at the University of Paris (Université Paris Descartes). The author emphasizes that philosophy is an effective tool to combat the mentality and the widespread malpractice in Italy seem to get lost so many female conquests of the '60s and '70s. Today, in fact, the commodification of the female body is more and more evident; the young people think they can succeed and make a career easily, only because of their beauty, without commitment and effort; mothers are plagued by guilt and often abandon their professional aspirations to take care of the family. An awareness and a critical lens may protect women from insults and humiliation.
The exhibition presents the lyrical reflections of contemporary artists through figuration now more dramatic, now more poetic, analyze the current situation of women.
