Catalog published on the occasion of the second edition of the Macugnaga Art and Culture Award, promoted by the Municipality of Macugnaga with the MAC Association, which will see the awarding of the award to Federico De Leonardis.
From 13 to the 31 August 2017 it will be possible to visit the installation created by the artist in the S.M.. Assumption of Macugnaga, while the 13 August at 21.15 a meeting with De Leonardis is planned at the Kongresshaus, the delivery of the Prize and the screening of a film about his work.
On display Federico De Leonardis presents an installation of sculptures that reflects on the search for identity of places, of man, of art itself.

Federico De Leonardis (Spice, 1938), trained as an architect and engineer, after a long internship in urban planning (Industrial and tourism development plans in Southern Italy and Yugoslavia), since 1978 he has dedicated himself exclusively to sculpture and installation, exhibiting both in Italy and in Europe (Belgium, Germany, Austria, Portugal and Switzerland) with important galleries (Continues, in Tuscany, Belvedere, in Milan and Galleria Rizzo, Venice) and in numerous solo and group exhibitions (they are remembered for all Art Yards, at the former Binda in Milan, Polemos, at the Castello di Gavi and the large permanent installation Slit and brace at the Peccioli car park, Pisa). Always interested in the workplace, he mainly creates site specific works, attentive to the features, historical and physical in a broad sense, of the space that hosts them (an example can be seen today in Venice, in one of his personal exhibitions at the Rizzo Gallery). Committed intellectual, has various publications to his credit (In shape, Eclipse, Extempora, Alice's House, Negative) e has a blog (Out of the teeth). Its objects of use, nominated by him as "antidesign" (lamps, libraries, tables, chairs etc.), they have been published by important trade magazines (Domus, Arca, Interior, Ottagono and others). Lives and works in Milan since 1963.
