Published on the occasion of the homonymous exhibition, curated by Sally Paola Anselmo Pinottini, at the Narciso Art Gallery in Turin, from 7 November 2015 to the 9 January 2016.
«Came from afar, from Lithuania, from the North, and after having experienced a personal diaspora that has taken her from her youth to various places in Europe, in which the breath of artistic innovation was most intense, first of all he cultivated music, graduating in piano and also knowing, between London and Paris, artists such as Epstein and Soutine, Pascin and Chagall and the Kolbe sculpture, of Despiau and Bourdelle and above all of Maillol, from which he decided to draw inspiration.
The charge of novelty brought by their painting found fertile ground in Antonietta's sensitivity of mind, intensely permeated by the moods of Yiddish culture and religiosity, with biblical themes and bright oriental colors that will later be recognized in the Chinese adventure. […]
It was always Antonietta's vivacity that overcame the narrow space for her in two dimensions of the canvas, to embrace the all-round of sculpture, imprisoning you and revealing the height of the ancient myths of which his thought was rich, in the suspended life expectancy ofAdolescent the 1947, in the sensual studied promise of Woman in the mirror the 1943, in the great love for his daughters, portrayed several times, as the Miryam the 1942, which can be admired in this exhibition, reflection of the moved respect for the anguish of a mother like her Niobe the 1948 or for the fullness of the spiritual creative power of Genesis the 1947, beginning of the world and of each of us.
This exhibition, taking the opportunity to remember the great artist and her work forty years after her death, it also wants to offer a warm tribute to his friendship that has mutually counterpointed the passion that made the long years of activity in the world of art come alive, a world that continues to reinterpret originality and vis expressive of a lady like her ".
