Andrea Cereda – Alessandro Costanzo. The substance of memory

The BONIONI Art Gallery of Reggio Emilia presents, from 8 June to 8 July 2018, “The substance of memory”, double staff of Andrea Cereda and Alessandro Costanzo, curated by Matteo Galbiati. A curatorial project that, for the first time, compares the artistic experiences of the two artists, selected by the Bonioni Arte Gallery as part of Arteam Cup 2017. Despite different paths, the two artists manage to "meet", revealing unexpected poetic affinities and analogies of vision.

«In both – writes Matteo Galbiati – the choice to express oneself respectively with sculpture and painting, traditional means, finds new formal methods, highlighting a common aptitude and convergence to renew its expressive codes and contaminate its actions, leading to the truth of works that add the ways and worlds of both languages. Concreteness, memory, time, space, color, nature and artifice find space to "move" and "move" the images in a chain of phenomena that reveal, a little bit at a time, the value and meaning of their doing which entrusts the image with the task of bearing witness to the suggestion of something that overcomes the contingency of the real fragment constituted by the work itself".
