Ivan Lardschneider, young sculptor Val Gardena, has already been stated on numerous occasions, inside and outside Europe. Among his latest exhibition venues, next to the 54th Venice Biennale, There are Rhode Island, Miami, Berlin, Paris. Now it is the turn of Tuscany, between San Gimignano and Casole d'Elsa. In this framework will be presented his latest creations and Catalogue "A Child's Play".
As a former student of Aron Demetz, Ivan had first embarked on the path of the new figuration so dear to Valpot and, young, veered towards a style very recognizable and original. Its medium is the wood, to lime, that the tradition of Val Gardena, one of the elegant and refined religious figures of our churches, but rediscovered thanks to a new and unique artistic syntax. Raccontare delle sue sculture significa avere il privilegio di ricondurci a quella condizione fanciullesca ed ingenua, simple and unspoilt taught us to call things by their name to transcend language and built to make it clean again.
Apex of its new production is the installation "A fallen angel on Earth”, exposed in the splendid Castello di Casole (Siena), where the typical character of Ivan is transformed into an angel and falls between us. Our cultural and religious superstructure lead us to think that this exile is a form of punishment for disobeying or rebelling against God. But, and in this lies the strength of the works of Ivan, you have to cancel their knowledge, clear your mind and look at his work with the eye of a child, free from prejudices and preconceived ideas.
