With the museum and the collection of plaster casts that preserve almost all models of the sculptures, the sketches in clay, drawings and paintings by the greatest sculptor of Neoclassicism, Canova Plaster Cast Gallery of the Museum Possagno (Treviso) now houses the works of Alberto Gianfreda, winner of the third edition of the sculpture "Antonio Canova". The initiative, wanted by the historic winery Guerrieri Rizzardi, present in the field of viticulture since the fifteenth century, aims to promote young exponents of contemporary sculpture, students or graduates from the Academy of Fine Arts Italian, in the name of the Venetian artist's virtuosity and his precocious talent. The personal exhibition of Alberto Gianfreda is an integral part of the prize that was awarded in September 2012 Guerrieri Rizzardi at Villa di Valpolicella Negrar (Verona).

The Foundation Canova wanted to share the proposed Guerrieri Rizzardi to dedicate a special look to young sculptors in order to continue in the direction of teaching Canova: between the will and testament of the sculptor was indeed emphasized the desire to set up a space for young artists of which he liked to surround himself Canova, paying attention and care towards their attitudes of sculptors, incisori, painters.

The show features a series of works of medium and large format Alberto Gianfreda that, born in 1981, lives and works in Desio (Monza Brianza). After graduating in sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in 2005 and, subsequently, have been formed under the artistic direction of the sculptor Nunzio, al TAM (Artistic Treatment Metals), of which he is president Arnaldo Pomodoro, from 2005 is a professor of forming, technology and type of materials at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera.

Earthquake Museo arises as a natural continuation of the exhibition hosted in Milan by Bank System as part of the non-profit "Art Bank System" for the promotion of emerging talent in the arts and cultural, but that in this new set-up is stated by Alberto Gianfreda in relation to the value of the museum that houses it.

In Milan the staff "earthquake sculptures heterogeneous' investigating the contrast between the geological age of our planet, considered young, and our social system, inversely old and outdated. In Earthquake Museo, instead, Gianfreda scours the relationship between museum function, eternatrice of monumental works by Canova, and a willingness to musealizzare the oscillation of the earth. Fragments of sculptures deflagrate to earth when it shakes are the instantaneous form of a modification perennial that reacts to eternal. Stems and bases are made possible resilient supports for new monuments dedicated to the Earth and this time appropriate to the conditions of the museum.

The analyzes that led to the awarding of Alberto Gianfreda in 2012 are the result of a harmonic shared workgroup. In giuria, with the presidency of Gabriella Belli, director of the Civic Museums of Venice, writer Isabella Bossi Fedrigotti, the artist Nunzio Di Stefano, Mario Guderzo, Director of the Museum and Gallery of Plaster Casts "Antonio Canova" Possagno, the collector Josephine and Francesco Panza Biumo Stalks, senior curator del Museum «Boijmans Van Beuningen» Tue Rotterdam. In honor committee, world-famous artists, as Carrino, Pino Castagna, Eliseo Mattiacci, Arnaldo Pomodoro and Giancarlo Galan, President of the Foundation Canova.

The award ceremony of the Carving Contest "Antonio Canova" is held every year, in ottobre, Negrar of Valpolicella (Verona) at Villa Rizzardi, among the vineyards of the old estates Guerrieri Rizzardi, company counsel. The initiative came from the company's passion for art and the ancient bond with the land that Guerrieri Rizzardi has matured over the course of five hundred years of wine-growing. Present since the fifteenth century in the field of viticulture Verona, Guerrieri Rizzardi is now active with vineyards in Bardolino, Property enlarged in the seventeenth century with the seals in Valpolicella and, in the last century, with those in Soave.

On this occasion will be presented an exchange of letters between the master Carrino, Andrea and Alberto Del Guercio Gianfreda reflecting on the sculpture and the exhibition project. The documentation on the exposure of Possagno is curated by Guerrieri Rizzardi. On display will also be available the catalog of the exhibition in Milan, published by our publishing house.
