Dagobert Rodriguez
Dagoberto Rodríguez Sánchez was born in Caibarién, The Villas in 1969, and graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), Havana, Cuba in 1994.
In 1992 he co-founded the Los Carpinteros collective. His works have been exhibited in museums and cultural institutions around the world such as, among others, the MoMA, the Whitney Museum of American Art or the Guggenheim in New York, the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Tate Modern in London or the Museo Nacional Centro
of Art Queen Sofia of Madrid.
Dagoberto Rodríguez currently works between Madrid and Havana. Combining architecture, design and sculpture, his work uses humor and irony to comment on the central themes of art, of politics and society. Watercolor forms a very important part of his creative process, it's a way to collaborate, record and review his ideas. Often these reflect a fantasy of a possible conceptual situation.
