TROILO_REDEFINING-HEROES_2020-759×500
Paolo Troilo from Milan

We are dealing with a new time and space. What are you discovering or rediscovering about yourself?
We have to make peace with time, when I left advertising at the height of a beautiful career I found myself alone in the studio, also 100 a 0, no more meetings, no group work, no deadlines distorted by a thousand perceptions, I was a single, with a lot of time and a family only a hundred steps away from me. But time is double-edged and space too. Like a blank canvas when you start working on it, it sounds exciting but it is also a leap into the void. It took time to adapt. So I feel privileged, my quarantine started many years ago, to be able to study the human soul in close relation to the physical, my space was enough for me. So today I am only wishing that mankind finds my own balance. It will take a long time, but the measures, even those of time, at this point, they don't really matter anymore.

What you're missing? Your personal experience of "absence" and "lack".
Freedom is missing, that of being able to kiss, touch, squeeze, to be able to trust, run, push, choose, go out. I don't miss anything else, I already considered many things superfluous, today I added more to the list e, albeit disturbing to say, I have to thank this Virus for that. To quote a fundamental philosopher of our century “The things you own eventually own you” (cit: Tyler Durden_“FIGHT CLUB”_1999_David Fincher). I suggest reading the Durden Rules today more than ever.

When all this is over: one thing to do and one never to do again.
1 – I dream of running on a beach followed by an immense crowd to jump all together into a fresh and transparent sea.
2 – Stop getting too attached to anything that doesn't have a breath.

Paolo Troilo was born in the beautiful city of Taranto, the most polluted in Italy, in una data palindroma 27/3/72, parents first cousins, my grandmothers were sisters. I've been drawing since I had 3 years every day, a 6 years I started drawing pathological anatomy for the transparencies that my father (anesthetist) used in congresses. I worked for almost 15 years in 2 of the best advertising agencies in the world (Saatchi&Saatchi and ArnoldWorldwide) in 2007 best creative in Italy (ADCI). In 2009 I gave up for painting. I paint with my fingers because when I started (2004) I forgot to buy the brushes. I am the only one in the world to do hyperrealism like this. I started with my friend Giancarlo Pedrazzini in the Fabbricaeos_Milano Gallery, Independent from 2012 (without a gallery and with the help of patrons and foundations) I have exhibited in half the world. I am a happy dad. The latest exhibition is “In the name of the fathers”, edited by Luca Beatrice, at the Italian Consulate in New York, 2017. www.troilo54.com
