Laurina Daisy Duck from Rovereto (TN)
How your way of working has changed?
The best thing about my job is that essentially I'm free to express myself however I want, I have no constraints or support, nor medium, nor of topics: I draw inspiration from everything around me, current facts, past events and I catapult them into my works.
But for the first time I felt stuck, helpless. My daily life has changed, suddenly, the things I did two months ago can no longer be done, at least for now; the impossibility of going to work in the studio, where are all my things, it destabilized me.
But suddenly, after the first weeks of physical and psychological lethargy, I had a small spark and the desire to do came back…
With which objects and spaces of your daily life are you interacting the most?
By force of circumstances I had to recreate a mini studio in the apartment where I live: taking advantage of the beautiful days of the last period, the balcony has become my office; on a small moleskine I started drawing and listing mini projects that I can make in just one square metre. So I went back to one of my first loves, the video animation, that for a while’ I had shelved due to lack of time and so I started animating with the help of a tablet, of mini survival "pills" entitled "Stay at home and ...", which I occasionally post on my social channels.
How do you imagine the world, when everything will start again?
I am an optimist by nature, therefore I strongly hope that the coronavirus emergency will be an opportunity to reinvent each of us, inspired by what happened, from what we are experiencing in these weeks: people have found new ways to communicate, very interesting collective projects have been invented, there is a lot of desire to do, to see beyond, not to get bogged down in this bad dream.
